Hey. thanks for putting it out there – you are so right. Athough i feel like a chick having to use the toner, consistency helps!! And oil control helps for oily skin.
They also have a few extra products for severe cases (that they mentioned with the followup call). Like a salicilic acid pen thing.

    About dermatologist knows best:
I had severe acne and keloids on my chest so the dermatologist decided to burn them with dry ice… VERY painful, and it didnt work.
    Skin science isnt perfect.

If you start noticing burns and irritation on your face after using step 2. SKIP IT! after i got burned and irritation skin i stop using step 2 and skipped on to step 3. Proactiv really does work just dont use it all at once that’ll really cause it to burn and irritation.

i couldnt stand the initial stages, where your face is red and dry,
and i look at users and they have this red raw look about them, which i personally think is worse than the acne,

  4. dawno5678 says:

proactiv uses benzoyl peroxide and some people are sensitive/allergic to it. so if it always burns then stay away from it.

  5. KenziLin says:

I used proactiv and it was terrible. That’s just me, like how you see those other commercials for the different skin type acne things. It didn’t work for me. It stung after I put it on, and when I accidently smeared some on my cheek and all over my face was dry skin. Clean And Clear worked for me.

  6. jacquistacey says:

for the first week you should use it only at night.. If people are doing it twice a day when you first use i t that’s why it would burn your face. and make sure you use a moisturiser with it that oil free..

crayolamunchie. hi im brittney im also using proactiv if ur friend is using proactiv and her face burns. dont use it. proactiv is maybe irritating her skin and she might be sensitive 2 it. when i first tried it it burned to so i stopped using it. then after a few months i used it and it didnt burn. so i’d give her face a rest and try something else

  9. crayolamunchie says:

my friend uses proactive and she said her face was like burning afterwards but it worked. ur face will be very red is that true? i don’t want to go around at school looking weird

  10. yorkpatties says:

the people who are only washing their face one time a day are going to get breakouts, of course, because they are walking around with dirty skin. your face gets all the dirty and dust out there so if you’re going to sleep with all that on your face, then yuk. and its so true, people need to go to a dermatologist when things aren’t working. people do not have to walk around with a pepperoni pizza face, dermatologists can prescribe things you wont find on the shelves at a drug store and they work!

just opinion maybe wear a shirt?

  12. Lisucaxx says:

it didnt work for me either

  13. iluvpaintball55 says:

  15. tispowwow says:

    @bae081

Not second degree burns but some of the solutions can burn the users face to an extent. My face for example, was burned harshly for a short period when some proactiv cream was applied to it, and left burn boils on my skin, rare reaction though.

  19. GODZILLAMANASS says:

@beachbum954 LOL what a retarded statement, if it were true it would be a chemical burn. Do you have any idea what a second degree chemical burn looks like? You are obviously retarded.

  20. rossjadon says:

@bae081 Benzoyl and tetrocycline stops bacteria growth, you still have to wash your face. Washing your face is really all you have to do. the other stuff just helps

  21. 28renesmee says:

does proactive really work? does it clear up blackheads?

  22. bae081 says:

nah not true either haha i hate how ppl comment and act like they know what they are talking about proactiv does not cause 2nd degree burns like idk what else to say to this except dont post false info

  23. bae081 says:

absoulety not true at all! wtffff?? benzoyl peroxide is proven to fight bacteria causing ance like that is a fact just washing your face doesnt do much thats like saying oh just wash your hands with water no soap and your hands are clean yay they are cleaner then no washing to begin with but their way cleaner with the soap
    this comment is ridiculous

  24. kayetraye says:

retin-a and accutane. exfoliate with salicylic acid and use sunscreen. i have tried using benzoyl peroxide and it does work but i dont like the way the texture of my skin looks after using it. i heard that it causes premature aging.i have been using retin-a since i was 16,im now 23 and along with accutane which i took when i was 19,my skin has never looked better. amazing actually. hey but if proactiv works for you then you should stick to it.
