www.encognitive.com Meditation originated from Vedic Hinduism which is the oldest religion that professes meditation as a spiritual and religious practice. Evidence of the origins of meditation extends back to a time before recorded history. Archaeologists tell us the practice may have existed among the first Indian civilisations. Indian scriptures dating back 5000 years describe meditation techniques. From its ancient beginnings and over thousands of years, meditation has developed into a structured practice used today by millions of people worldwide of differing nationalities and religious beliefs.[9] Yoga (Devanagari योग) is one of the six schools of Hindu philosophy, focusing on meditation. In India, Yoga is seen as a means to both physiological and spiritual mastery. There are several types of meditation in Hinduism. Amongst these types are: * Vedanta, a form of Jnana Yoga. * Raja Yoga as outlined by Patanjali, which describes eight “limbs” of spiritual practices, half of which might be classified as meditation. Underlying them is the assumption that a yogi should still the fluctuations of his or her mind: Yoga cittavrrti nirodha. * Surat shabd yoga, or “sound and light meditation” * Japa Yoga, in which a mantra is repeated aloud or silently * Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of love and devotion, in which the seeker is focused on an object of devotion, eg Krishna * Hatha Yoga, in which postures and meditations are aimed at raising the spiritual energy, known as Kundalini …

@runefan213 you have blockade on 3.eye cakra, you just meditate and it will open with time, just hopeing you are ready for it..
salvia is awsome, my friends think otherwise, but i love it.
Is it possible to do this? I have never reached 3rd eye state however i would have thought it would take hours of meditation to reach and salvia trips usually last about 10 minutes.
I dont feel any itching on the forehead.
But i do see Purplish and bright white lights pulsating and doing all kinds of random movements.
That is normal. either your left leg is pressuring the right leg or the other way around. its something you’ll get used too..
less breathe then no breathe, dark tunnel, bright light and visions….
This sounds just like what people have in near death experience….
Do we really understand meditation properly? Or is it just a pychological phenomenon of the brain…
I’m not trying to discredit meditation, but trying to discover the truth….
@yajdub it happend to me to but i didnt stop meditating and then it felt like i had my eyes open in a dark room
perhaps it has something to do with your posture?
has anyone ever tryed salvia while in the 3rd eye state?
after u meditate, do u feel dizzy? something is wrong than. I feel numb on my legs. LIke the blood is clotting somehow.
wow nice…
about that i feel the same way too. i don’t know how to explain and i thought that i’m the only one, but when i meditate, i feel my body keep moving side to side and i c visual of colors.
wow..nice.agree meditation is better than drugs.
agree agree.
Sorry i want to finish properly. Dissmising drugs in this topic is perfectly understandable. we just cannot forget that what is in our heads is a chemistry which can be guided in certain way.
Im not promoting LSD in this case, however mind on LSD is in a state which cannot be achieved without it, and people under its influence tend to be more creative in every aspect of their life.
Basically it increases ur perception and feelings which are always the judge of peoples doings and their ideas
Drugs like LSD have have the affect of increasing feelings and perception of certain ideas.
Philosopher Shleiemaher claimed that feelings are the best judge of intuitions which guide your understanding. Although that LSD maybe not natural, it increases feelings which can result in better judgement of intuition and certain understanding.
In case of LSD its not the drug which makes you “understand” but already what is within you just with certain help.
@denisbetsi I read a few articles wich they compare quantum physics with the theory of chi and what they had in common
Why people bring drugs in Meditation topic? If you
guys like using drugs then just use drugs and
stay away from Meditation groups drugs are for
drug addicts.Pure Meditation makes you mentally, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthier people even get rid of bad habits from Meditating as far I see you guys
are bringing in bad habits into Meditation those
who have done drugs to achieve higher vision
is nothing but drug effects. Keep Meditation pure and pure only no drugs.
Haha no way, thats just one method
Jeezyjlm7
Drugs will get you nowhere. Just watch your breath.
not at all its better that you don’t, drugs give you an immediate result with long term issues where as just pure meditation will give you long term results and greater understanding
@Jeezyjlm7 what you experience on LSD particularly is an Epiphany. LSD overflows serotonin receptors with the chemical Lysergic acid diethylamide that fits almost like a key in the receptors. It stimulates sound smell vision and taste or allows you to see taste a color.
Yeah i have done lsd and shroom before and they did change my perceptions of thing.
i just started meditating and wanted to now if i had to go through thoughs drugs again to get to the state i want to be in.
from my experience, psychoactive drugs (weed, LSD, shrooms) can help you understand world as someone who is meditating could understand it BUT not AS much.
You can’t reach your third eye with drugs. Doing drugs can only make you ask questions about life and how we understand things. Maybe change your perception on the world as well.
But through meditation, you can achieve those higher states of consciousness where you have total understandings of everything.
I want to reach the third eye…do u really need drugs to reach the third eye?
